First the downloaded file that you download from above link is packed with WinRAR archiver. For using that file you have to install WinRAR from here:

After downloading and Installing WinRAR, Right click on that file and click extract here. After that click "Avast Setup.exe" file and install it.

Method of Updating Virus Definitions of Avast Antivirus

Open Avast Antivirus from Notification Area at bottom right corner of Your computer screen or from Avast desktop icon. Click on "Maintenance", In maintenance click on "Update" In update there are two sections, One(Upper) is Virus Definition Update and Other(Lower) is Program Version Update. Click on Update in front of Virus Definition and Virus definitions will start Updating.
